The day of the traditional Zašová pilgrimage, which this year falls on Sunday, 6 July, is approaching. This pilgrimage tradition began 300 years ago with the transfer of an ancient image of Our Lady of Zašová from the old timbered church to the new pilgrimage church. The present church was built by the Žerotín family because of this image and the large number of pilgrims who come to it.
In this jubilee year, a HISTORICAL WALK THROUGH THE CHURCH, inspired by this event recorded by chroniclers, will take place as part of the Zašová pilgrimage.
The parade is open to everyone who comes in Wallachian or other folk costume. The participants will meet in front of Medical Centre, from where the parade will set off at 9:45 am through the centre of the village towards the church. We invite you to participate actively, not only as spectators.
Come with your children, a ceremonial cannon shot is expected. Together we will create a period atmosphere, as our ancestors could experience three centuries ago.
